BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Owners of 12 stalls located at Buildings 1 to 3 at the Dumaguete City public market have been issued warning letters for selling intoxicating liquors and other beverages, in violation of the 1988 Omnibus Market Code.

This was after reports came out that the market complex is being used as a drinking haven of foreigners and locals alike during early morning.

Questions were also raised on why these stall owners are allowed to operate without business permits.

GSIS said in a statement it issued that the upgrading will take more time due to data recovery activities.

Risty Villahermosa of the local GSIS assured, though, that the agency will continue to accept the filing of loan applications by batch through accredited liaison officers in government agencies.
