A worthwhile holiday

Former exchange student (Rotex) Trish Kramer, married to Dr. Greg Valiachichini, and children Molly and Austin, spent a week-long holiday in Bacolod City with their former foster family, that of the late Felix, and Tess Yusay, Donnie and Honey Poblador and the late Dr. Ernesto, and Carmela Namin, recently.

A week before their arrival, Rotary Ann members Nelly Sarabia, Dolly Gatuslao, Letty Tan, Nelly Gazo, Beng Ascalon, Salud Javelona, Cosette Badrina, Ditas Gatuslao, Syzette Monuzca, Imee Luzuriaga and Mela Namin discussed and planned different activities for the visitors.

A welcome dinner at Sugarland Hotel was tendered by the Rotary Ann and her husband. The visitors spent their night at the Yusay home.

The next day, they watched and witnessed the harvest of fish and tilapia, and were thrilled and excited experiencing life at the Yusay Calumangan farm.

The following day, it was off to the island of Lakawon. Taking a small boat was an experience for them. They enjoyed riding, jet ski boating, and the two kids gathered sea shells.

Donnie and Honey Poblador also invited them to their farm.  There was a delectable lunch for everybody with crispy lechon. Later they went around the mountain resort of Mambukal.

The visitors were then treated to the famous inasal, shopping at ANP for souvenirs and pasalubong, and dinner at a Japanese resto, until it was time to say goodbye.

With a heavy heart, Dr. Greg, Trish and children Molly and Austen thanked their hosts and friends especially the Rotary Anns who made their holiday worthwhile.

Remember: Confession is the key that opens the door to forgiveness. Helping someone in Jesus’s name is your most important work for the day.*
