Measures in place against
deadly swine flu: DA chief
Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap said yesterday that steps have already been taken to prevent the swine influenza crisis from hitting the Philippines after the World Health Organization has issued a global advisory warning against the spread of the virus.
The new "multi-strain swine flu" virus has already spread in Mexico and the United States, and latest reports indicated it may have reached New Zealand.
“Although as of today, there’s no ongoing outbreak of swine flu in the Philippines," Yap said in a statement.
