Bacoleño found dead
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

The body of a dental technician was found along the shoreline behind the  Negros Coliseum in Bacolod City yesterday morning.

Jennel Grijaldo, 23 of Purok Malipayon, Brgy 35, was found lying on his backwith a suspected hack wound behind his head, police reports said.

At about 7a.m. yesterday a team from Police Precinct 1 led by PO2 Eric Lisbo and the Bacolod City Police Office Scene of the Crime Operatives composed of SPO4 Henry Ruiz and PO3 Wilfredo Perez conducted an ocular investigation at the crime scene.

Based on police initial investigation, Grijaldo went on a drinking spree on Saturday night with his common-law wife Ermilinda Iquiña, 22, and their neighbors Michael Guatiz, 30, and Regie Abelada at a videoke bar along Rodriguez-Yulo streets, Bacolod City.

Iquiña and Abelada went home earlier, the police report said.

However, because Grijaldo was beginning to be unruly and noisy, Guatiz decided to flag down a trisikad outside the bar at around 1 a.m. yesterday and bring the victim home.

Police investigation also revealed that when the two reached the area near their houses, Grijaldo allegedly refused to get down from the trisikad prompting Guatiz to leave him and go home.

A couple of hours after, Guatiz saidhe wassurprised when someone informed him of Grijaldo’s death.

Iquiñasaid that Grijaldo failed to go homeSaturday night, prompting her to look for him.

A request for an autopsy has already been  forwarded to the city medico-legal officer to ascertain thecause of Grijaldo’s death.

The unidentified driver of the trisikad and his back rider are now being considered by the police as suspects in the death of Grijaldo, Lisbo told the DAILY STAR last night.

He added that they do not have any witness yet. Police Precinct 1 Station Commander, Senior Inspector Luisito Acebuche, hasordered his men to fast track the  investigation of Grijaldo’s death.*APN
