Aquinos not intimidated
by machinery of palace

I can stake my life on it: my brother will not tarnish our family name and steal in office,” Aurora Corazon “Pinky” Abellada said yesterday.

Abellada and Maria Elena “Ballsy” Cruz, sisters of Liberal Party presidential candidate Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, were in Victorias City, Negros Occidental, for the birthday of third district congressional candidate Albee Benitez last night.

Abellada  told the DAILY STAR they continue to get warm and enthusiastic welcomes from people who are spending their own money to put up headquarters around the country for their brother’s campaign.moremoremore

Demolition job
aimed at us – Mar

Liberal Party vice presidential hopeful Senator Mar Roxas yesterday said there is an ongoing demolition job against his team and their supporters, because they are always on top of the surveys.

Roxas said the administration party is bent on destroying them, because they have  the support of the people, citing results of several surveys by the Social Weather Stations ever since.

Bulacan Governor Joselito Mendoza and Isabela Governor Grace Padaca, who are supporting  the candidacies of Aquino and Roxas, were ordered by the Commission on Election to vacate their respective positions, saying they lost in the May 2007 elections.

P3M fire hits school

Grade One teacher Jasmin Caldino lost all her instructional materials and the school records of her students when fire destroyed six classrooms and the school canteen of Lopez Jaena Elementary School in Murcia, Saturday afternoon.

Damage was placed at P3 million by the Bureau of Fire and Protection after firefighters of Murcia, Bacolod BFP, Amity and Chamber jointly put out the fire that lasted for about an hour.

Fire Officer 2 Rolando Mayder said investigations show that the fire could have started at the school canteen where they recovered a cooking pot and a “kalan (native stove)” with charcoal in it.moremoremore
