Jatropha Curcas, or kasla, is one of the best alternative fuels, Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry vice president for External affairs, Jose Ma. Zayco, said in a press release from the Philippine Information Agency.
Zayco said kasla is low in maintenance, wildly grown for the past 100 years, and its seeds are available everywhere.
He added that, based on their three-year study in a 14-hectare jatropha laboratory from 2006 to 2009, they found that engaging in such project is profitable but is best implemented through local government unit and private sector partnership.
The Bacolod City Water District will relocate a discharge line from its Montebello Well to the subdivision's pipelines, and this will cause a water supply interruption from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow, a Baciwa press release said.
Affected areas are Montebello Subdivision, Eroreco, Mountain View Subdivision, and Brgy. Mandalagan.
Residents of the affected areas are advised to store enough water to supply their needs throughout the interruption period.
