An original song album on the program implementation of R.A. 9003 or the Solid Waste Management Act will be launched 7 p.m. tomorrow, at the Don Bernardo L. Benedicto Community Center in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
This illustrates the “resiklo” advocacy of the local government under Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr., and is in line with the 42nd Charter Day Anniversary of Cadiz, a press release from the city said.
The album, entitled “Dalamguhanon Sang Cadiznons,” consists of 12 original Hiligaynon compositions, which are Kahigko Pamatukan, Palibot ko, Talupangdon Ko, Polyusyon, Basura Ipa-iway, Dunang Manggad (Sa Likod sg Kauswagan), Dunang Kabuhi, Mga Tinugyanan, Katinlo: Bahin sg Kabuhi, Katinlo: Dason sa Pagkadiosnon, Kauswagan sg Cadiz, Handum nga Kauswagan, and Mag-isa Kita.
Produced by Cadiz City government, the CD album which will be distributed to the public for free, was written and released by the “Tribu Resiklo,” a group of local composers and writers who are also government employees. Its members are Jun Torreverde, Rany Barrieses, Ely Mayo Diola and Jude Jaropillo, the press release added.*

Mayor Pedro Zayco Jr. yesterday presented to city employees the four trophies received by Kabankalan in various contests, during the 17th Environment Week celebration of Negros Occidental recently, a press release from the city said.
Kabankalan was named champion in the search for the most outstanding local government unit on Environment Management in 2008, second place winner in Model Solid Waste Management Board, and special awardee in the Cleanest and Well-Maintained Public Toilet in the Plaza and the Cleanest and Well-Maintained City Hall.
Zayco cited the efforts of the Task Force Kalinisan that strictly acts as watchdogs for violations of City Ordinance No. 2005-001, or the City Ecological Solid Waste Management Program of Kabankalan, the press release added.*
