Gov. Orlando Fua yesterday said all facets of the environment are integrated in the code citing above others, significant provisions on fishing and measures in relation to mining.

Fua said that proper waste disposal, river preservation and protection of waterways, which are all contained in the Siquijor Environment Code, will make the province environment-friendly. The code will be forwarded to the governor for his signature, before the implementation.

To assure effective implementation of the code, Fua said an oversight committee was created “to shadow the implementation of this code.”

He added that the passage of the code willput environment and tourism projects in place.*RG
