Another Bacoleño was arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Negros Occidental operatives in a buy-bust operation in Bacolod City yesterday afternoon.
PDEA-Negros officer-in-charge, Police Officer 2 Cerillo Baluma Jr., said that under the supervision of Regional Director Paul Ledesma, the suspect Nick Fernandezwas arrested in his residence at Purok Everlasting, Brgy 34 in Bacolod.
Three plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and two cellular phones were recovered from the suspect’s possession, Baluma said.
Fernandez is presently detained at the lock up cell of police precinct 1, while his alleged companions Ramon Mapa and Bernie Lopezescaped, Baluma added.
Charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale, Trading, Administration, Dispensation, Delivery, Distribution and Transportation of Dangerous Drugs and/or Controlled Precursors and Essential Chemicals) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of the Republic Act 9165 will be filed against Fernandez, Baluma said.
Last week, two Bacoleños and a Silay City resident were also apprehended by PDEA Negros and Bacolod police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group operatives at the Bacolod Public Plaza and at Brgy. 39 in Bacolod.*APN
