At the May 14 bidding, Binalbagan-Isabela Sugar Company disposed its stocks at P1,012.50 (high) and rejected lower offers; Victorias Milling Company, P1,025.19; Lopez Sugar Corp., P1,025;Sagay Central Inc., P1,025; and Central Azucarera de San Antonio in Passi City, P1,010.90 (high) and P1,000 (low).
Prices at the April 2 bidding: Passi I inched up to P1,048.48 this week from the previous week’s P1,046.08.

An organic farming advocate lawmaker yesterday said that the promotion of natural agriculture will help the country have a more stable economy, particularly among its Asian neighbors.
“With organic agriculture, we are going back to basics but it is the only way that will help us overtake our neighbors,” Rep. Prospero Alcala (Quezon, 2nd District), said.
Alcala was in Bacolod City yesterday as part of a nationwide public consultation effort for pending organic agriculture bills in Congress.

launched for OFW’s
Overseas Filipino workers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia can now inquire about the status of their Iqamas or obtain information on their application for exit and entry visas and other procedures through the Internet, the Department of Labor and Employment reported.
Citing information from the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Makati City, Labor and Employment Secretary Marianito Roque said the KSA's Ministry of Interior has launched an online service which would allow Saudi citizens and expatriates including OFW’s to inquire about their ID’s, Iqamas, and visas.
The service also includes inquiries on the eligibility to perform Haj and other procedures in the Kingdom.
