BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Two Bacoleños were stabbed Thursday night at Bangga Cory, Brgy. Taculing in Bacolod City, Police Officer 1 Clemens Mabugat said.

Mabugat identified the victims as Anthony Lapuela, 31, of Purok Bayanihan, Brgy. Taculing, and Govanni de Arca, 18, of Bangga Cory, Brgy. Taculing, who were treated at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

Lapuela sustained a lone stab wound on his abdomen, while De Arca was hit on his left leg, Mabugat added.

The suspect, Nonito Sabanal, 24, of Phase 4, Brgy. Handumanan in Bacolod, was apprehend at a jeepney terminal in Libertad Street in a follow-up operation led by Mabugat, with Police Officers 1 Ernie Abangco, Noli Fregil, and Leny Laniohan, and PO3 Ludivico Dela Raya and SPO1 Eduardo Bantoto.

Sabanal told the police that he only retaliated because De Arca punched him on his face.

Meanwhile, charges have been prepared against the three suspected rugby boys who stabbed dead a teenager at Gonzaga Street on Tuesday morning, case investigator SPO1 Jerry Senoro of Police Station 6 said.

Jomark Plaza, 19, of Gonzaga Subdivision in Bacolod succumbed to a lone stab wound on his stomach Tuesday, while being treated at CLMMRH.

Senoro said that, based on their investigation, the incident was triggered by old grudges between the victim and the suspects who were only identified through their aliases.*APN
