MassKara launch tonight

MassKara 2009 will be launched at the Manokan Country 7 tonight, on the second day of the 1st Inasal Festival of Bacolod.

Ferrero Street, in front of Manokan Country, will be transformed into an Electric MassKara strip, and a short sneak preview of what is in store for October at Lacson Street will be shown, festival director Eli Tajanlangit said.

MasssKara performers will include electric skateboarders, gymnasts, breakdancers and airdancers, Tajanlangit added.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia, city officials and the organizers of the 30th edition of MassKara, set Oct. 1 to 18, 2009, will unveil its logo and theme.

Studies on the look of the Electric MassKara performer that is going to be distinctly its own will be shown, such as the costumes designed by Bamboo Tonogbanua and the choreography of Rudy Reveche.

The logo will be unveiled at 8 p.m., followed by a short electric MassKara performance and fireworks.

Three simultaneous concerts, sponsored by Globe and San Miguel Corporation, will follow.*
