Perjury raps vs.
2 media persons eyed

BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

The Bacolod City Legal Office will recommend to Mayor Evelio Leonardia the filing of perjury charges against two Bacolod media practitioners who filed plunder raps against him and two others for alleged payments of professional services amounting to P245 million, Secretary to the Mayor Vicente Petierre III said yesterday.

Franklin Villanueva and Sarah Teresa Esguera, who is a co-host of Bacolod Rep. Monico Puentevella in a local radio program, also filed plunder and grave misconduct charges before the Office of the Ombudsman against City Accountant Eduardo Ravena and City Treasurer Annabelle Badajos.

The complainants claimed that the respondent city officials allegedly used to pay the professional services of consultants hired by the city from 2006, 2007 and 2008, over and above the advise of COA to Leonardia to stop the hiring of consultants whose service did not show expertise or attention beyond optimum in-house capability.moremoremore
