The Alyansang Bayanihan ng mga Magsasaka, Manggagwang-Bukid at Mangingisda recently held a seminar on land reform and cooperatives at the INI ATON training center, Brgy. 10, Bacolod City,a press release firm the group said.

The seminar focused on the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform, Program extension with reform law of 2009, the Philippine Cooperative Code of 2008 and the Automated elections of 2010.

Department of Agrarian Reform and Commission on Elections officers served as the speakers, the press release said.

Tourney seeks to end hazing

The Leon Kilat Chapter of the International Order of Demolay, said to be one of the largest organizations of fraternities in college and university campuses, has announced its campaign against hazing, that has led to deaths and serious injuries of students in the country over the last decade.

Ian Lizares of the Order of Demolay said its fraternity, in cooperation with Miss Dumaguete 2008 Maria Luz Catan and Muay Association of the Philippines Dumaguete Chapter, will hold a Kickboxing Against Hazing tournament Feb. 20, at 1 p.m. at the main atrium of Robinsons Place in Dumaguete City.
