Kabankalan cops clueless
on skeletal remains found

Police investigators are still clueless on the identity of the person whose skeletal remains were exhumed Friday in Brgy. Hilamonan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

Supt. Calixto Mabugat, yesterday said it was Rolando Baucaya who discovered and reported the skeletal remains he found in a sugarcane field, at Hacienda San Lucas, in Brgy. Hilamonan.

Mabugat said the remains, believed to be of that a man, wore orange shorts and a black shirt.

The remains were buried at the Kabankalan City public cemetery after its documentation and examination by personnel of the City Health Office.

Escalante police chief, Chief Inspector Santiago Rapiz, meanwhile, reported yesterday that Alfredo Mesa,46, was found dead in Sitio Cagay 2, Brgy. Buenavista, Escalante City, with injuries in the head.

Rapiz, said they are still conducting further investigations, to determine if there was a foul play in his death.*GPB

Barangay tanod knifed

A Baranggay Tanod was stabbed by a bystander at about 1 a.m. Saturday in Brgy. 27, Bacolod City.

Crime Against person investigator Police Officer 1 Arnel Deles identified the victim as Nelson Lopez, 26, of Purok Cereza, Brgy. 27, who sustained stab wounds on his back and right side.

Lopez was conducting a visibility patrol in Purok Starapple 2 with two companions when the suspect, identified as “alias Mayong” stabbed him without provocation, Deles daid.

Lopez was rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, while the suspect evaded arrest bringing with him the bladed weapon he had used.

Richard Flores, of Bangga Camingawan, Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod was also rushed to CLMMRH with multiple stab wounds yesterday morning, the police said.

Flores was at Lopez Jaena Street, Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod at about 1 a.m. when an unidentified suspect repeatedly stabbed him for unknown reason.

Meanwhile, Rockyrel Chavez, 29, of Cityville Subdivision, Brgy. Estefania was also treated at CLMMRH Friday night for a lone stab wound on his back.

Investigation showed that Chavez was talking to his neighbor, whom he identified as “alias Pipo” at about 8:30 p.m. when his other neighbor, a certain “Nonong”, stabbed for no apparent reason and fled.*APN

IN CADIZ
Minor nabbed
for stabbing

A 17-year-old suspect in a stabbing incident Saturday was arrested by the police in Brgy. Zone 4, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

The victim, identified as Ericson Chavez,24, is now being treated for stab wounds in the arm and chest at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City.

Chief Inspector Noel Mana-ay, Cadiz police chief, said the arrested minor, whose identity is being withheld, was turned over the Department of Social Welfare and Development office for custody.

Policemen also arrested Thursday a farmer and his son for allegedly killing their relative in Brgy. Binagyuhan, Escalante City.

Now detained at the Escalante police jail are Felicisimo Pasague, 59, and his son, Norlito, 40, who were identified by Chief Inspector Santiago Rapiz.

Rapiz, Escalante police chief, said Cristituto Pasague, 54, sustained multiple stab wounds that caused his death. The victim is the cousin of Felicisimo and uncle of Norlito, who claimed they were shot by the victim who also tried to stab them.

Two bladed weapons were recovered at the scene of the incident.

Meanwhile, Salvador Boloy, 52, who is facing  homicide charges, gave himself up to the La Castellana police station Thursday, after he was informed that an arrest warrant is pending against him.

Inspector Romeo Vargas, La Castellana police chief, said Judge Francisco Rodriguez, who issued the arrest warrant, recommended P100,000  as bail for Boloy.

On the other hand, Danilo Hita-as was also arrested by a combined team of policemen and soldiers of the 62nd Infantry Battalion in Victorias, City Friday, for violation of the Comelec gun ban.

Supt. Jomil Jon Trio, Victorias police chief, said a homemade 357 magnum revolver was recovered from Hita-as, who is now in jail. *GPB
