Hot meat seized
The Bacolod City Anti-Illegal Slaughter Task Force, formerly Task Force Botagoy, confiscated about 7.55 kilos of pork meat being displayed at the Montevista public Market in Brgy. Montevista in the city yesterday afternoon.
Task Force head Rex Juplo said the pork meat seized was tagged as “hot meat” as it had no meat inspection certificate and no corresponding meat brand.
Juplo noted that the owner of the meat tried to hide it when he arrived with Police Officers 2 Sergio Sisles and Julius Dacles, Senior Police Officer 1 Willie Perez and Police Officer 1 Jet Pirote. The confiscated meat will be condemned and the vendor was warned, he added.
“The owner did not resisted when we confiscated the hot meat”, Juplo told the DAILY STAR.
The Task Force had also confiscated 19 kilos of pork meat being sold by a Murcia resident at a mini-market in Paglaum Village, Brgy. Mansilingan last month.
Meanwhile, Juplo said they had confiscated about 1,500 kilos of hot meat from June to December 2009.*APN
