Zontians’ sister
club agreement

IVY

Members of the Zonta Club of Bacolod were all excited at the recent arrival of nine members of Zonta Club of Marikina Foundation Inc. led by its president Aurora Olmos-Lim, past president Mercedes Ong, and president-elect Ma. Theresa Abuel, for the Signing of Sister Club Agreement with the Bacolod Zontians.

Early that Saturday morning, the Bacolod Zontians led by its president Patching Puentevella and other officers and members, were at the airport to meet their guests. From the airport to the hotel, guests were treated in the van with delicious “puto” and “ensaymada”, so tasty that before the night ended, there were numerous orders from the guests to take home to Manila.

The formal signing ceremony was held during lunch at L’Fisher Hotel’s Ripples Function Room. After the luncheon, the guests were taken to Negros Showroom to see the best of Negros products. Like women the world over, the ladies had the time of their lives shopping to their hearts’ content.

A sightseeing tour of The Ruins was a memorable experience for the guests who saw what the lifestyle of the old south was like in the old days. As is customary for all visitors to Bacolod, “You never leave Bacolod without tasting the famous Bacolod Inasal”.

So the visitors enjoyed their dinner at Chicken House where Rep. Monico Puentevella joined the group. After dinner, the Zontians were raring to go ballroom dancing, “Bacolod Style” at the Bacolod Pavillion where some of the members stayed tripping the light fantastic till 3:30 a.m.

During their short stay, the visiting Zontians visited the Tree Planting Area of Zonta Club of Bacolod at Don Salvador Benedicto. They also passed by Mambucal Summer Resort and the Zonta Playland at the Capitol Lagoon for a photo op. Last stop was 21 Restaurant for Batchoy, knowing that the guests would arrive in Manila late for dinner.

Before they left, the guests thanked their local counterparts for the incomparable hospitality that Negrenses are famous for.*
