‘Rebel’ nabbed
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

A suspected New People’s Army member facing charges of robbery-in-band, was arrested by Scout Ranger troopers Tuesday in Brgy. Quintin Remo, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.

Maj. Nathaniel Villasor, 303rd Infantry Brigade Civil Military Operations chief, yesterday said the suspect identified as Vicente Mission, 45, is also a close associate of Mitchell Fat, alias Rocky, of Squad 1 Platoon 1 of the Komiteng Larangan-Central Negros, and farmer’s group leader Crisanto Fat, who is now in jail.

Villasor accused the rebel group of coddling and recruiting fugitives, citing the case of Mission.

He acknowledged the help of Barangay Quintin Remo residents in reporting the presence of fugitives and rebels in their areas, which led to the arrest of Mission.

Mission was immediately turned over by the 2nd Scout Ranger Company troopers to the Moises Padilla Police Station for detention.*GPB
