Blessings of health

The new MRI equipment of the Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital was blessed and opened recently with doctors, hospital and health care executives of the region present.

The new Siemens Magnetom Essenza machine was blessed by Fr. Dominic Dexter Somcio while the ribbon-cutting was done by the hospital executives Dr. Andrea Torre and Mai Torre.

Present at the affair were Bacolod City officials, PhilHealh’s Vicel Bracamonte and Doctors Hospital’s George Abueg. After the blessing, snacks were served and guests were toured around the new facility.

Bacolod media were also invited to a press conference conducted by Dr. Hector and Dr. Andrea Torre, and Dr. Rosario Gallaga-Esteban.

Dinner and a scientific lecture shortly followed at L’ Fisher Hotel. Opening the night was the Pax Cristi, and the Riverside College Choir. The guest speaker, Dr. Bernard Laya of St. Luke’s Medical Center, talked about application in neuro imaging while Uwe Steuck, Siemens Business Development manager, gave the doctors an overview of the new machine.
