| Cops eyeing jealousy
in suicide of Bacoleño
Jealousy allegedly drove Carlo Antiqueña, 31, of Phase 1 Regent Pearl Homes Subdivision, Brgy. Alijis, Bacolod City, to commit suicide by hanging himself with a belt from the ceiling of the balcony of his house in Brgy. Alijis, early yesterday morning.
Crime against person investigator Police Officer 1 Arnel Deles said that based on initial investigation he conducted with Police Officer 2 Juliebert Dalumpines and Senior Police Officer 1 Danny Abalayan, Antiqueña and his wife, whose name the police did not disclose, had a heated argument earlier.
Minutes later, Antiqueña was found by his brother-in-law Bryan Dueñas, at about 4 a.m. suspended from the ceiling of their balcony. Antiqueña died while being rushed to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center, Deles said.
Antiqueña’s body will no longer be subjected to an autopsy, as they believe that there is no foul play behind his death.
On Friday, widower Jerry Chavez, Sr., 55, of Purok Pag-asa, Brgy. Estefania also hanged himself, with a rope in his house, allegedly because of a lingering illness.
Meanwhile, Edito Pasensya, 22, of Purok Kabakwan, Brgy. Villamonte was stabbed at about 1 a.m. yesterday in Purok Bayanihan, and died while being rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.
Deles said a longhaired man had been seen accompanying Pasensya while leaving a benefit dance, before he was found by a barangay tanod lying on his back in a banana plantation, with multiple stab wounds.
The motive and the identity of the suspect or suspects is still being determined by the Bacolod City Police Office Investigation and Detective Management Section crime against person desk.*APN
