RJ Stars bowlers top Bago tourney
RJ STARS NPBC captured the crown of the “Valentine’s Day Mayor’s Cup” Open Trio Invitational Bowling Tournament at the Plaza Arcade Bowling Alley in Bago City, Negros Occidental.
The two-day event organized by the Bago City Bowlers Association led by its interim head Otay Gonzaga, was part of the celebration of the city’s 44th Charter Anniversary.
The Rowena Juarez and Steve Po’s NPBC squad turned back the ESD Electronz/ASSFBI anchored by Pat Mendoza, 369-364, to grab the Mayor Torres Cup and the top purse.
| Pepsi posts 2nd win in TKP Pepsi Cola notched its second straight win at the expense of East West Bank in overtime, 107-101, while Talisay City unleashed a blistering first half assault to hack out a 108-96 triumph over Probac in the 10th Tan Kek Pin Memorial Cup Basketball Tournament at Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym. East West rallied in the second half, capped with a Matty Tayongtong layup with six seconds left in regulation to send the game to OT. Dindo Artango, however, took matters in his hands in the extra period as he single-handedly outscored EW, 11-8, to seal Pepsi’s victory. |
| Canlubang eyes 17th win Strengthening its lineup in preparation for its title retention bid, Canlubang also hopes to become the first team to capture 17 victories when the 63rd Philippine Airlines Interclub golf tournament opens Feb. 24 in Bacolod City. The tournament, dubbed “Swing High in Bacolod,” will be jointly played on the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club in Brgy. Bata and the Bacolod Golf and Country Club in Murcia. It will be preceded by the Seniors Interclub, a separate tournament for the clubs’ senior players, from February 18 to 21. |
