| Day of hearts
Valentine’s Day was a red-letter day. Prices of red roses, especially the long-stemmed ones, increased by as much as three times their usual price, at the Bacolod public plaza.
Together with the golden belles, we had lunch at the large garden of Larry and Lily Munoz, and enjoyed savoring all the delicious food, and fruits from the garden. We had to end it, however, as everybody was looking forward to going out for the night’s affair.
As usual, Gene and Milet de Leon picked me up on the way to L’Fisher Hotel. In spite of their very spacious parking space, we had a hard time looking for one, until luckily, we spotted a vacant space.
The hotel was full of lovely and handsome guests with red dominating. According to Liza I, love is in the air for everybody, including the servers or waiters.
Children Marides and J. B. Mapa, with the two attorneys were assigned at L’Fisher Chalet, while R.C.C., Ditas C. and Delia Granada stayed at the main L’Fisher. The Don Ricardo Hall, Ripples, La Proa Ballroom were fully booked. Romantic Music was provided by young singers. The atmosphere was so romantic.
Angie Rubin and her balikbayan children with their husbands, came to our table to say “Hello.” Another balikbayan, Dr. Wilner and Dr. Esterbelle from the land of milk and honey were also there, so with the Pfleiders – Fred and Mildred – who have decided to stay here for good.
It was late when we left the hotel but still, more people were coming to celebrate Valentine’s day.

To my dear friend, Jessie Vasquez, who will be buried today at 2 p.m., may your soul rest in peace.
Remember: Love is patient and kind. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects trust, hopes, and perseveres. Love never fails.*
