Temporary truck
rerouting set

A re-routing for cargo trucks coming from the south and north bound for BREDCO port passing the portion of San Sebastian Street (Dawis, Brgy. 14) will be implemented later this month, Teresita Guadalupe, officer-in-charge of the Bacolod City Engineer’s Office, said in a City Hall press release yesterday.

Guadalupe has been tasked by Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia to rehabilitate the damaged road in the area used as passage route of heavy loaded ten-wheeler trucks carrying cement, fertilizer and other goods to and from the Reclamation Area Port and warehouses.

Guadalupe said this road had been designed as a 6-inch thickness road, and the City Engineers Office is going to rehabilitate its damaged portion to a 10-inch thick concrete reblocking to make it more capable of the load it is subjected to.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod has passed Resolution No. 70, Series of 2010, granting permission for the closure of the portion of San Sebastian Street for 120 days for the completion of the rehabilitation project.

The temporary re-routing for cargo trucks from the south will be: Araneta Street turn right to Alijis-Murcia, Alijis-Murcia Road turn left to Circumferential Road, Circumferential Road turn left to San Juan Street (Puno Banago), San Juan Street turn right to Bredco/Reclamation Service road, Bredco/Reclamation Service road (Brgy. 2 and 6), the City Hall press release said.

For those coming from the north: Lacson Street turn right to Circumferential road, Circumferential road (to Banago) turn left to San Juan Street, San Juan Street turn right Bredco/Reclamation Service road, Breco/Reclamation Service road (Brgy. 2 and 6), the press release added.*
