DILG view needed
for ban revisions
The proposed amendment of the controversial ordinance banning the entry of genetically-modified organisms into Negros Occidental continues to remain “hanging”.
This is because the Department of Interior and Local Government has yet to give its opinion on the proposed amendment being pushed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Vice Governor Emilio Yulo III said yesterday.
Yulo said the SP cannot make a decision on it because it might be different from the opinion of the DILG.
He added that they are sending a follow-up letter to the DILG.
