Negrense junior golfer Joaquin Leandro Figura Tronco, 7, carded an 80 to clinch third place in the 25th Edition of the Champions for the Future Kids Golf Tournament at the Riviera Sports Club in Silang, Cavite, Saturday.

 The young Tronco went held his ground against US Kids Golf European Champion, fellow RP Team member Philippe Winsett Palanca, and Connor Cully to finish in the top three of the competition.

Though tied with Cully at 80, Tronco bagged the second runner-up honors due to a countback on the 18th hole.

The event was Tronco's first tournament in a new age group (7-8 years old) after having been part of the RP delegation to Junior World Golf Championships a couple of years ago.*
