| Summer arts camp
for children slated
A month-long summer arts camp that involves “playing and having fun whilst learning a craft” is one of the summer activities for children of Silay City offered by the Tapulanga Foundation Inc., in cooperation with Bonfire Production Inc.
It is entitled The Silay Summer Workshop “10” on April 12 to May 7 and will be hosted by the St. Francis of Assisi School of Silay City Foundation and Silay Institute, Ma.Carmela Golez said.
Workshop instructors and facilitators come from diverse backgrounds.
The main thrust is to give the children a fun experience in learning a craft in the arts during their summer break, Golez said.
Instructors include: Tanya Lopez, artistic director of the Maskara Theatre Ensemble and the Performance Laboratory Inc.; Milton Dionzon, a veteran of Negros theater; Eero Martinez, instructor of the Negros Summer Workshop; and Jay Abello, film director who made the Ilonggo film Namets!, she said.
Classes to be offered range from: Children’s and Teenage Acting, Hip-Hop Dance, Basic Drawing and Painting, Arts and Crafts, Music, Practical Photography and Mud House Workshop, Golez said.*
