‘Power shortage solution
starts with conservation’

Senator Loren Legarda appealed to households to “conserve more, consume less” in order to ease the worsening power crisis in the country, especially in Mindanao, a press release from her office said.

The National Grid Corp. has placed Mindanao under "red alert" as the power situation continues to worsen.

This is due to the recent dry spell which has reduced the capability of Mindanao’s hydropower sources to generate energy, the press release said.

DA urged to bare action plan

Anakpawis party-list Rep. Rafael Mariano  has urged President Gloria Macapagal  Arroyo’s administration to disclose the government’s action plan to mitigate the impacts of the El Niño phenomenon, a press release from his office said.

Will the government just compute damages?

Farmers need direct intervention from the government. We demand the Department of Agriculture to lay down its action plan to save farmers from extreme hunger and support production, Mariano said in the press release.
