| Stolen car recovered
A combined team of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office Intelligence Branch and of the Binalbagan town police recovered the carnapped vehicle of an Austrian national that had been abandoned in Brgy. Bagroy, in the town Saturday.
The silver Suzuki sedan of Kurt Schnabel, 77, of 13th Lacson Street, Bacolod was stolen by unidentified man from the basement parking lot of Gaisano City Bacolod on Monday.
Schnabel’s fiancée Jemilyn Guinawatan, 27, told the police that the Austrian lost the car key on their way to their coffee house in the mall.
Police Officer 3 Junji Liba of the NOPPO Intelligence branch theorized that the suspects abandoned the vehicle to evade arrest when the police conducted pursuit operations.
Report said the car was still in good running condition but its accessories were gone.

Softdrink firm
manager robbed
Two men held up a softdrink firm manager at about 7:20 p.m. Friday in Brgy. Bata, Bacolod City.
Crime against property investigator Police Officer 3 Aries Escarda identified the victim as Ronald Gayatano, 27, of Purok Sawmill 2, Brgy. Bata, Bacolod.
Investigation showed that Gayatano was riding a motorcycle driven by Sunny Cubian, 23, of Purok Riverside, Bata when the suspects flagged them down in Purok Magbinuligay, in the barangay.
Gayatano said one of the suspects threatened them with a knife, while the other one frisked them and took his cellular phone valued at P6,500, wristwatch worth P500 and P5,000 in cash and fled.
Escarda said Cubian has identified the suspects, who, he said, are residents of Brgy. Bata and whose names are being withheld by DAILY STAR.
Mario Diaz, 60, of Murcia town, Negros Occidental, Albert Toreta, 17, of Purok 42, Brgy. Villamonte and John Rey Estimar, 17, of Fortune Towne, Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod also reported that they were held up in Bacolod City early morning Saturday.
Diaz said four unidentified suspects held him up at Sayo, Brgy. 30 and took his P2,200 in cash and fled while Toreta and Estimar said they were held up at 6th Lacson Streets by unidentified suspects who took their cellular phones and P150 in cash.*APN

Policemen
apprehend snatcher
A suspected snatcher was apprehended by Station 2 policemen at about 11:35 a.m. yesterday at his residence in Bacolod City.
Police identified the suspect as Jessie Sombito, 24, of B.S. Aquino Drive-Lacson Street, Brgy. 1, Bacolod, who was apprehended by Police Officers 1 Gigger Sebuan and Christoffer Profeta.
Sombito was identified by Roserie Hernaiz, of Purok Kahirup, Brgy. Mandalagan as one of the three suspects who held her up and took her cellular phone while she was walking along 22nd-Lacson streets earlier on Saturday.
Sebuan said Sombito was apprehended after Jimmy Talaver of Purok Tilapia, Brgy. 3, to whom the cellular phone was sold, voluntarily surrendered the item to Police Station 2.
Sombito admitted the crime and identified his companions, whose names are being withheld by the police.
Charges are readied against Sombito, who is detained at Police Station 2.*APN
