Ex-brgy head’s son killed
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

The son of a former Barangay Captain in Bacolod City was stabbed in a videoke bar in the city at about 3 a.m. yesterday and later died at a hospital.

The victim was identified as Rolando Aplasca, 43, of Brgy. 22, by Crime against person investigator Police Officer 3 Jose Roy Militante who succumbed to a lone stab wound on his chest.

Militante said a rumble occurred between the groups of Aplasca’s neighbors Stephen Ortillosa, “alias Barbon”, 22, and Vester Langreo, “alias Bombet”, 23, and the group of Anthony Corbita, 19, of Purok Pinetree, Brgy. Bata at the Chaps videoke bar in Brgy. 22.

He said Ortillosa and Langreo sought the help of Aplasca and Bert Conrado, 23, when they were chased by Corbito and his six unidentified companions.

“Aplasca was stabbed by Corbito when they arrived at the videoke bar, while Conrado was also injured”, Militante said.

Conrado and Aplasca were rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital but the latter died at about 4 a.m.

Corbito was apprehended at the Bacolod downtown area after a hot pursuit operation conducted by Station 1 policemen led by Police Officer 2 Joshua Barile.

Homicide charges are being readied against Corbito, who is now detained at Police Station 1.

Aplasca is the son of former Barangay 22 Captain Arthuro Aplasca, Sr.

Meanwhile, Mark Flores, 17 and Arnel Macna, 21, of Vista Alegre, both of Brgy. Vista Alegre sought police help, claiming that an unidentified man shot them with an airsoft gun at about 1 a.m. yesterday in the barangay.

Flores and Macna told the police that they were walking in the barangay when the suspect suddenly appeared and shot them.*APN
