defeats 3rd Mexican
BY NIDA BUENAFE
World Boxing Organization minimumweight champion Negrense Donnie “Ahas” Nietes claimed his third Mexican victim inside the ring Saturday as he forced into submission Jesus “Negrito” Silvestre, in the last round of their 10-round non-title bout at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
The pride of Murcia and Bacolod City unleashed his power early as he sent to the canvass Silvestre in the first round with a right uppercut then followed it up with sharp jabs in the next two rounds.
But Silvestre proved to be a tough cookie and made Nietes pay for the first round knock down with a left hook that found its mark and hurt the Filipino pug.
