Task Force Mapalad yesterday called Rep. Ignacio “Iggy” Arroyo Jr. (Neg. Occ., 5th District) an “incorrigible liar” for saying that neither First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo nor the Arroyo family are the owners of the 157-hectare Hacienda Bacan in Barangay Guintubhan, Isabela, Negros Occidental.
But Arroyo said, “It is their word against mine.”
Do they have any proof that we own Bacan? Arroyo asked.
He challenged TFM to prove its claim.

for livelihood projects
About 400 unemployed workers in Western Visayas will soon receive their tools, jigs and equipment for their livelihood activities, Department of Labor and Employment 6 acting Regional Director Crispin Dannug Jr. said in a DOLE press release.
Dannug said that DOLE approved 35 proposals with a total cost of P1.995 million under its Kabuhayan Starter Kits Project aimed at assisting long-term unemployed workers to start their livelihood activities.
The assistance will be used to conduct skills training and purchase various tools, jigs and equipment which the beneficiaries will use to start their livelihood activities and become self-employed, he added.

Save Bacolod Movement lead convenor Romy Niere yesterday said they are endorsing the candidacy of Arnel Lapore for member of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative board of directors representing District 2.
CENECO will hold an election on Saturday for a seat on the CENECO Board representing District 2 that was left vacant by the late CENECO director Pepito Malapitan.
Lapore, of Brgy. Pahanocoy, is running against Oscar Esler of Brgy. Felisa. The one elected will have 18 months to serve as board member before the next election.
