The Armed Forces of the Philippines and National Police have placed 113 barangays in Negros Occidental on their watch list for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataaan elections on Oct. 25.

Of the 113 barangays in Negros Occidental, 34 belong to category 1 because of intense political rivalries and history of election-related incidents, while 79 fall under category 2, due to reported sightings of armed rebels, military and police records show.
