Bayawan LGU to donate
lot, funds for PNP building

Mayor Rene Gaudiel of Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, said the city will donate a lot and allocate funds for the construction of a building to house the Philippine National Police station.

Gaudiel, however, also said this will only materialize next year, as the city government has already made up this year’s budget.

He said the new central police station will be located at the city’s government center, while the present police station will be made a sub-station.

The government center is designed to house various government offices and facilities, such as the city jail and the Hall of Justice, and a building for Children in Conflict with the Law that will cater to the needs of juvenile offenders, who must be separated from the adult offenders.

Bayawan is among the local government units in the province that has not yet donated a lot to the PNP, so the police can allocate funding for the construction of a new police station.

Sta. Catalina town will soon have a modern three-story police station building after the LGU donated a lot to the PNP.*JFP
