Negros badminton players
to get world class training

Aimed to carry the program into the grassroots, 3rd District Representative and Philippine badminton Association Secretary-General Albee Benitez has lead the conduct of talent identification and leveling of local players over the weekend in Victorias City as well as gave his words of sending badminton players to Indonesia for 2-month training.

Indonesian top shuttlers Tiek Ming, Ruby Wejaya and Wang Lili led the leveling of around 50 players from Negros Occidental and Iloilo.

Among these players who underwent the leveling process came from the University of St. La Salle, Trinity Christian School and St. Scholastica’s Academy in Bacolod City; the Cadiz City Badminton Team and the Valiant Badminton Club of Iloilo.

in LNA7-USLS tiff

Amit Teruel scored 10 points in the first quarter to set the pace for BBC’s eventual taming of Glitter Productions, 73-61, in the latest game of the LNA7-USLS Alumni Basketball Tournament at the West Negros University Gym.

Although Mark Celestial was able to equal Teruel’s output in the opening minutes, Glitter failed to catch up with BBC in the endgame.

A close first half ended at 34-33 in favor of BBC, but Sammy Belangel fueled the winning team with 16 points in the third quarter to leave Glitter behind at 58-41 going into the final quarter.
