Four hold-up suspects were arrested by Station 6 policemen and members of the Bacolod City Police Public Safety Company, a few minutes after they attempted to rob a taxi driver in Brgy. Taculing, in the city, at about 1:15 a.m. yesterday.
Arrested were Jun-jun Tampos, 22, Ronnel Bato, 18, Jennis Mark Columnan, 18, and Isiah Mendoza, all of Purok Datiles in Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod, Station 6 commander, Chief Insp. Placido Gentoleo, said.
The four were apprehended with the help of bystanders at 6th Road in Puentebella Subdivision, on the complaint of taxi driver Daniel Esclotor, 36, employed by MJG taxi.
Escoltor said the suspects rode his taxi at Paglaum Village in Brgy. Mansilingan yesterday, and told him to bring them to Puentebella Subdivision.
At the junction of Hernaez and Mercury streets of Puentebella Subdivision, however, the suspects declared a hold-up and threatened Escoltor with bladed weapons.

2 injured in stabbing
Two employees of an auto parts store were stabbed and injured by the co-worker at about 8:40 p.m. Saturday in Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City.
The victims were identified as Egliciano Bobo and Ronald Aquiton, both 21, of Brgy. Tampalon in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
The suspect, a certain “Toby Oñates”, also an employee of the Philmotors at Burgos Street, Bacolod, was able to evade arrest, case investigator Police Officer 2 Sherwin Rojas said.
Bobo sustained a stab wound on the face and hands, and injuries on his lips, while Aquiton has two stab wounds on his neck. They were both rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Hospital, but Bobo was released yesterday.
The victims and the suspect had come from a mini-bar, where they had drinks before the incident happened, Rojas said.
Oñates wanted to go home and was about to ride a tricycle when Bobo and Aquiton insisted on going with him, and that resulted in an argument that eventually led to the stabbing, he added.
Rojas also said they went to the Philmotors store yesterday but Oñates was no longer there.*APN
