Mons Vic celebrates

Shortly after the celebration of the Feast of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Shrine, Msgr. Vic Rivas left for the U.S. to join friends and relatives from the City of Kabankalan for a grand reunion and an extended celebration of his Ruby Jubilee as a priest.

While in the U.S. on a month-long vacation, Mons Vic’s angels were busy planning and preparing for his 66th birthday. Invitations were sent, informing friends and family there was going to be a dinner at Mons Vic’s beach house in Punta Taytay.

After a mass at the Our Lady of the Shrine, presided by the celebrator, it was off to the beach house where Mons Vic was greeted with a birthday song by his fellow priests led by Fathers Greg Patino and Ronald Quijano. Then they brought Mons Vic to blow his birthday candles.

A sumptuous dinner was served and guests stayed to enjoy a short program presented by the priests and the Cathedral Choir, and a drama was shown.

To Mons Vic, may you have more birthdays to celebrate. Keep up the good work and God bless you!

Remember: Life has its gains, pains, failures and everything and it’s natural. It’s God’s way to teach us how to make one step higher after we fall.*
