One hundred eighty-seven students from three universities in Dumagute City passed the July 2 and 3 Nurses Licensure Examination out of 221 examinees, Professional Regulation Commission results showed yesterday.

The PRC announced that 37,513 out of the 78,135 examinees passed the examination.

St. Paul University-Dumaguete got a 99.04 percent passing rate, followed by Silliman University with 90.63 percent, and Foundation University with 64.71 percent, PRC school performance records showed.

SPUD recorded 103 passers, SU 29, and FU 55.

NLE was administered in Manila, Cagayan de Oro, Bagiuo, Iloilo, Davao, Legaspi, La Union, Pagadian, Lucena, Tacloban, Pampangga, Zamboanga, Tuguegarao, and Cebu.

Meanwhile, all board passers are required to take the professional oath before the Board of Nursing or any government official authorized to administer oaths, in pursuant to Section 16 of the Republic Act 9173 or the Philippine Nursing Act of 2002.

The registration for new nurses require duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current community tax certificate, two passport sized 1x1 colored pictures with white background and complete name tag, and two sets of metered documentary stamps and a short brown envelope with name and profession.

Board passes must also pay the initial registration fee of P600 and annual registration fee of P450 for 2011-2014. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.*LTG
