The Bacolod City Water District warned its consumers anew that there are unscrupulous persons posing as BACIWA personnel, pretending to inspect their water connection or do maintenance works.
They use this ploy to gain entry to households or properties, a press release from the agency said.
BACIWA said it has no field inspectors assigned to collect payments of water bills or any fees from its consumers.
Payments should only be made at the BACIWA office, at SM Department Store and any authorized collecting banks, listed at the back of the water bill for current accounts, the press release said.
Consumers must ensure that the BACIWA personnel who visit their homes or offices to conduct inspection or any regular maintenance works on water connection wears an ID with the BACIWA logo, or ask for proper identification before allowing them enter their household/property.
Until consumers are sure of the identity of the BACIWA personnel, they should not allow them to enter their household/property.
