7 trophies for Negros shooters
in Magnus Cup 2011 tourney

Ace shooters from the Gun Club of Negros Occidental brought home seven trophies after making their mark in the Magnus Cup 2011 held recently in Armscor Shooting Ranges in Marikina.

Picking up the championship in their respective divisions were Stephen Hinojales, Tootsie Anglo, Jannette Gonzaga, Talisay vice mayor Neil Lizares, and Talisay councilor CB Lacson.

Hinojales was champion in the Open division, Anglo topped the Production Senior category and finished 3rd runner-up overall in Production division, Gonzaga reigned in the Ladies Standard category, Lizares rule the Standard competition for LGU and was 7th  overall on aggregate in Production, while Lacson claimed the championship in Producion division LGU category.

Terra Dolce, AX in semis of
4th SJI Alumni basketball

Terra Dolce (1990-92) and AX Currency Exchange (2006-08) advanced to the semifinals as they routed their respective opponents in the 4th St. John’s Institute Alumni Basketball Friendship Cup at the Msgr. John B. Liu Activities Center.

Top Seed AX pulled away in the fourth quarter to put away No. 8 team 11 Degrees (1996-98) with an 82-59 win, while No. 2 Terra Dolce dominated No. 7 Orix (2001-02) for the first three quarters for a convincing 67-48 victory.

Games today will feature knockout semis matches with Terra Dolce up against the Legends (1989 & earlier) at 6:30 p.m. followed by AX against Shakey’s (2009-11) at 8 p.m.

LJP paces NSL
5-Man bowlfest

LJP Trading/NPBC RJ Stars toppled 1,610 pinfalls to lead the 2nd NSL organized Five-Man Team Bowling Tournament at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

With three more games left, the NPBC squad headed by Gil Villagante, now tops the tally with 12,225 points, 69 over second place Eco-saver led by Reymund Lopez with 12,156.

The LJP team is composed of Villagante, Jam Morales, Steve Po, Hernand Garciniego, Cano Gaudite, Karl Barbosa and Buddy Ferrer.
