Police ensures safety
for SU Founders' Day

The Dumaguete police are strengthening security measures this week in anticipation of an influx of local and foreign visitors  to the 110th Founders' Day anniversary celebration of Silliman University.

Dumaguete police chief,  Supt. Crisaleo Tolentino, said  the Negros Oriental Philippine National Police provincial office will  field  augmentation men  to secure he public  during the  celebration, that will  run through to the weekend.

Round-the-clock mobile and foot patrols, police assistance centers, plainclothes intelligence agents, and improved communications systems are already in place, Tolentino said.

Provincial police director, Sr. Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas,  is expected to send  more  police personnel for temporary deployment in the  city. He  also provided additional telecommunications equipment for the city police to improve their communications networking,  Tolentino said.

Barangay tanods  will also be tapped as force multipliers.*JFP
