in police drug raid
About P15,000 worth of shabu was recovered by the City Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Grop during a raid in Brgy. 2, Bacolod City, yesterday.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Municipal Trial Court in Cities Executive Judge Napoleon Diamante, CAIDSTOG team leader Senior Insp. Joemarie Occeño said they swooped down on the residence of Robert Sausi in Purok Sigay in Brgy 2 at about 12:30 p.m.
The CAIDSTOG members seized 15 elongated plastic sachets of suspected shabu, two improvised burners, an improvised tooter, a bamboo clip, a pair of scissors, an improvised plastic scoop and several empty plastic sachets believed used in repacking the banned substance, police records showed.
One of the CAIDSTOG members conducted a test-buy operation earlier yesterday and bought a sachet of suspected shabu from Sausi, to ascertain the report from a police asset a week ago, that the suspect is into the illegal drug trade, Occeño said.
During initial interrogation, Sausi disclosed that the supplier of the illegal drugs seized lives near his rented place in Brgy. 2 but refused to identify him, Occeño also said.
He added that Sausi, who is now facing charges for possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia, had also been arrested by CAIDSTOG several years ago for the same offense.
Meanwhile, two men were arrested by Station 1 policemen when they were caught having a pot session at the Alunan-Yulo area in Brgy 36, Bacolod, at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Arrested were Roberto Cawaling, 25 and Ricky del Prado, 33, both of Alunan-Yulo, Senior Police Officer 4 Cesar del Carmen, Station 1 chief investigator, said yesterday.
Del Carmen said they went to the house of Del Prado to serve his warrant of arrest for violation of Article 168, or possession of counterfeit bills, issued by Bago City Regional Trial Court Judge Frances Guanzon. He said they found Del Prado smoking what is believed to be a marijuana cigaret with Cawaling.
Del Carmen and Police Officers 1 Edward Teodorico, Richard Villan and Sonny Dumate also seized several tablets of medicines and two cellular phones from Del Prado during his arrest.*APN
