Japan vs. Negros
in Panaad today

The Negros Occidental team represented by West Negros University players and the Japan team represented by players from Ogi High School will see action today in a friendly football match, set 10 a.m., at the Panaad Football Field in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

Japan booters are Hideshima Mina, Otsu Mai, Ueno Yuka, Egashira Kana, Kitagawa Tatsuya, Ehara Seiya, Hiramatsu Yuya, Yasunaga Tsuyoshi, Kawata Kouhei, Tanaka Daiki, Tsuji Shuichiro, Nakaichi Yuta and Kodera Keigo with head coach Furukawa Takashi. 

Negros players from WNU are Crismello Aguilar, Jazel Duazo, Jemar Ciocon, John Carlo Lucero, Noel Madraga, Daniel Ramos, Ryunell Fegidero, Bon Jovi Umbao, Alfred Zunega, Cristian Valderama, Joel Villacoquer, Ray Romy Malundo, Christ Je Opelario, Rudennis Palomo, Neil Patrick Quezada and Marti Malubay with coaches Norman Fegidero, Jr., Paul Espinosa and Warren Concepcion.

Terra Dolce tames Legends

Terra Dolce-Jollibee (1990-92) outlasted  the Legends (1989 & earlier) for a 73-59 victory, while AX Currency Exchange (2006-08) rode on its third quarter cushion to hold off  Shakey’s, 93-78, to arrange a championship showdown in  the 4th St. John’s Institute Alumni Basketball Friendship Cup at the Msgr. John B. Liu Activities Center.

The win firmed up Terra Dolce’s posturing to challenge defending champion AX’s two-year winning streak which extends at 18 games.

TD will meet AX on Thursday at 8 p.m. before the Legends and Shakey’s slug it out for third place at 6:30 p.m.

Balayo makes mark
in 5-Man bowlfest

Caribbean Resort bet Edjie Balayo topped the elimination phase in the battle of the top 10 bowlers of the 2nd NSL organized Five-Man Team Bowling Tournament at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

Balayo averaged 112.91 points per game to lead nine others in the master bowler finals, tonight.

The other top players who will challenge him are Reymund Lopez (Eco-saver), Orly Guiljon (Eco-saver), Hernand Garciniego, (LJP Trading/NPBC/JFM), Jam Morales (LJP Trsading/JFM), Raymund Gargar (RJ Stars/NPBC), Nonoy Hulguin (RJ Stars NPBC), Bert Pediongco (Dolar Surveying Office), Hazel Acse (Eco-saver), and Gershon Elican (Eco-saver).
