A police report identified the victims as live-in partners Ambrosia Otosin, of legal age, single, and a resident of Lower Tubigon, Sibulan and Tranquilino Rama, also of legal age, single, of Sto. Niño in San Jose town, Negros Oriental.

Police investigation showed that on Saturday afternoon the gardener, identified as Bernie Baroc, 20, single of Escalante, Negros Occidental, claimed his monthly salary from his employers, but the latter allegedly refused to pay him.
