Drug ‘pusher’ falls
BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

Police in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, arrested a suspected drug pusher during a buy-bust operation Sunday afternoon.

An initial police report identified the suspect as a certain Sammy de la Peña, 28, single, a resident of Cawitan in nearby Sta. Catalina town, who was apprehended in the city proper.

A team from the Bayawan police force, headed by Insp. Juvenal Rado, swooped down on the suspect at a billiards hall at about 2 p.m. Sunday, in a buy-bust operation that yielded one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu.

Also confiscated from the suspect were a P500 marked bill used during the buy-bust operation, and total cash of P1,531.

The suspect is now detained at the lock-up facility of the Bayawan City police station and charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 are being readied against him.*JFP
