Hinojales, Gonzaga top
AsPac Glock Invitational

Rising above another top-level international shooting competition, Stephen Hinojales and Jannette Gonzaga of Gun Club of Negros Occidental ruled the field and captured titles in separate events of the Asia Pacific Glock Invitational recently held in Mactan, Cebu.

Hitting the targets with accuracy and marksmanship worthy of the title, Hinojales bagged the Glock overall championship crown and finished first runner-up in Production division, while Gonzaga reigned in the Lady Standard division to capture the title.

GCNO shooter Talisay Vice Mayor Nilo Lizares won first runner-up in the Standard division, while teammate Lean de Leon, was No. 1 in Junior division and second runner-up in Open category, and Andy Gonzaga, first runner-up in Senior category, Production division.

The competition, set at Cebu Pistol and Rifle Association in Mactan, Cebu, drew the participation of 270 shooters, including competitors from Hong Kong, Canada, Malaysia and Japan.

Like in their previous foray in international events, the GCNO shooters brought home most number of trophies.

In August this year, the Negrense shooters also won seven trophies in the Magnus Cup 2011 held in Armscor Shooting Ranges in Marikina, where Hinojales topped the Open division and Tootsie Anglo, the Production Senior category.

Gonzaga’s recent triumph in Mactan was replication of her victory in Marikina where she also clinched the title in Ladies Standard category.*NAB
