Early Yuletide parties

It seems that almost everybody wants to celebrate Christmas parties very early, to avoid the rush, consideration of venue accommodation, and for whatever valid reasons.

Last Sunday afternoon, Suntown Camp Foundation celebrated its Yuletide bash at Nature’s Village, beginning at 2 p.m., and later at the Mother Butler Mission Guild at Sugarland Hotel at 6:30 p.m.

Mother Butler’s Mission Guild has had Mila Chui as Charter president for almost six years and Msgr. Noly Que as adviser. Their mission is to take care of the altar, priest vestments and, on Yuletide, the beautiful Belen. It now has 32 members, all of whom attended in their colorful attires with matching ribbons. Msgr. Noly and Cynthia Flores did not forget their giant milk bottles.

The most popular baby dress that evening was in red polka dots. Before dinner, there was never-ending picture-taking. Special guests were Dr. Yvonne Santos Guevarra, hospital administrator, and Dr. Alfredo Guervarra, company physician, both of the Fatima University Medical Center, in Valenzuela City, and Fr. Mariano Clarence Canafe Jr.

After dinner was the holding of exciting games, and exchange of gifts with animal names. Before giving the gifts, one had to describe it, and the audience will guess.

Winners were Virgie Lopue – Pinaka Bongga, Mila Chiu – Pinaka Cute, Ofelia Buga-ay – Pinakabata nga Tigulang, Lea Coloso – Pinaka Best Effort.

It was one party where I really enjoyed laughing and playing. Merry Christmas to all!

Remember: Jesus longs to be your friend. Monitor your heart daily to avoid wandering from God’s wisdom. The Bible is God’s prescription for the health of our souls.*
