bags 8 awards

Doanne Stephanie Peraren, 19, bagged most of the 15 corporate awards in a side event of the 10 Lin-ay sang Murcia finalists at the Murcia Sports and Cultural Center Monday night.

Peraren, a hotel management major at the University of St. La Salle, won eight titles: Miss Tanduay, Miss Coke, Miss Juicy Cologne, and Miss Face of New Placenta, a press release from Murcia said.

She also won the Miss Megasoft Hygienic, Miss Sundance, Miss Energy Development Corporation, and Miss Avon titles.

Hotel and Restaurant Management student, Chinky Cantere, of Barangay Blumentritt, was Miss Star Ice title, Miss Cali by San Miguel Corporation, Miss Silka Papaya Cosmetic Asia and Miss Olive-C.

The Miss Fashion Exchange awardee was Kathleen Matillano, 17, who also won the Miss Boracay Rum.

Accountancy student Shallie Mar Derla, 16, of Barangay Lopez-Jaena was Miss Ever Bilena, while the Miss Boardwalk was Ma. Dolores Alfafara of Barangay Minoyan, the press release said.

This year’s Lin-ay sang Murcia finalists were Rachelle Marie Evangelista, Marie Anne Leslie Garzon, Rhea Jane Almaiz, Maru Macalipsay and Candy Ann Gumayan.

Present at the Talent, Festival Attire and Corporate Awards were Mayor Andrew Montelibano, Vice Mayor Gerry Rojas and world boxing champion Donnie Nietes, a native of Murcia.

The Lin-ay pageant night will be at 7 to 9:30 tonight at the Murcia Sports and Cultural Center, the press release added.*
