Key Philippine National Police officials are leading today’s inauguration and blessing of the new, three-story modern building of the police station of Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental.
Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo, regional director of PNP Region 7, and Negros Oriental provincial police director, Senior Supt. Edward Carranza, will lead the activity. They will be joined by Sta. Catalina police officers and local government officials headed by Mayor Leon Lopez, Supt. Alet Virtucio, deputy provincial director for operations, said.
The building project started last year during the time of then provincial police director, Senior Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas, was allocated P3 million from the PNP as part of its Integrated Transformation Program, Virtucio said.
The Sta. Catalina local government unit donated the lot on which the building stands, and a counterpart funding, Virtucio added.
Sta. Catalina is the latest LGU in Negros Oriental to get a new police station building, while other LGUs who had earlier also donated lots for the same purpose are still awaiting funds from the PNP.*JFP
