A minor who pleaded guilty to three counts of rape against a 10-year-old girl in Bacolod City has been sentenced to more than 19 years imprisonment.
Bacolod Regional Trial Court Branch 41 Judge Ray Alan Drilon sentenced the 17-year-old, whose name is being withheld by the DAILY STAR along with that of his victim, for the rapes committed on September 16, 2010.
The accused, assisted by his lawyer, was apprised of the nature and consequences of his voluntary plea of guilt, the judge said yesterday.
The court took into consideration the minority of the accused at the time of the commission of the crime in the imposition of the sentence, the judge said.
In Criminal Case No 10-33873, the minor was sentenced to 12 years and one day as minimum to 14 years eight months and one day as maximum imprisonment for the rape of the 10-year-old and to pay his victim P75,000 as civil indemnity.
In Criminal Case 10-33880, he was sentenced to six months and one day minimum to two years, four months and one day as maximum imprisonment and to pay his victim P50,000 as civil indemnity.
In Criminal Case 1033883, he was also sentenced to six months and one day as minimum to two years, four months and one day as maximum imprisonment and to also pay his victim P50,000 as civil indemnity.*CPG
