Task force closes
boarding house

BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Task Force Sagarr yesterday padlocked a boarding house for doing business without permits from the Dumaguete City government.

Task Force Sagarr No. 11 team leader SF03 Danny Abad said the boarding house owned by Esmeralda Gomez that was closed, was just one of those given warnings and notices earlier by the City Legal Office.

Investigations showed that the boarding house of Gomez, with eight rooms, is rented by a certain Restituto Villafuerte of Amlan, who, in turn, accepted lodgers who are students of a nearby university.

The mayor’s order was for the boarding house to cease and desist from operating until it has complied with the provisions of Section 68 of the Omnibus Tax Code of 1997.

Villafuerte is given one week to act on the infractions.*JG
